About Us

Northlakes is a lake access community with 292 homes in Hickory, NC with a lot to offer.  From its beautiful neighborhoods to private boat access and recreation areas, Northlakes has something for everyone.  Situated on Lake Hickory close to Hwy 321 and just a few miles North of I-40, Northlakes is a great location for commuters and shoppers.  Whether you are raising a family, retired or in between Northlakes is a great place to live! 

The Northlakes community has a Home Owners Association.  It relies on residents to pay annual dues of $75.00 per household to maintain the common areas and recreational grounds.  Paying HOA members receive a key which allows them access to the private boat launch and beach areas.  The Northlakes HOA is encouraging all residents to become members so that revenues are available to make improvements to our existing facilities and take on new projects suggested by residents.

Getting Ready for 2023 Season

Hey neighbors! A few updates: We are planning a work day for May 20. If you've got some time to spare (or have kids who need service hours) this is a great opportunity to improve our neighborhood. We'll be working on the Suttlemyre playground lot in the morning. Our annual meeting is scheduled for June 10 at 10:30 am at the lake lot! We hope to see you there. Lots of plans in the works! If you're staying for the party, bring your own drinks and a dish to share! HOA memberships are due by June 10. If you're a current member, your access card will expire June 11. 2020 Membership

Greetings, Northlakes Homeowners! The 2020 membership drive is underway, and we hope you’ll renew your membership to help us keep Northlakes a unique, vibrant, and well-maintained community.  Our dues this year will be increased from $75 to $100 annually.  This is the first increase in dues in over 10 years, and is necessary to ensure we can meet the increased costs of both necessary maintenance and community improvements. Because of the unique challenges and limitations we face this year as a result of the Coronavirus, the  Annual Summer Kickoff Party will be postponed . Our lake lot will remain accessible to our members to use at their discretion and with respect to the federal and state health guidelines. As the season progresses, we hope we will be able to pick an alternative date mid to late summer to gather together and celebrate. Summer of the new gate!

One of the best amenities of living in the Northlakes community is our lake lot.  However, before getting to the lake lot there has always been a gate with many pros and cons.  A couple pros are that the gate kept the lake lot secure and safe for our HOA members, while heavy, hard to unlock, and inconvenient are just three cons that almost out weigh the pros.  Not anymore!  The Northlakes Board is excited to announce that a new electronic, automatic gate has been ordered and it will be installed for the 2019 summer.  Stay tuned for more details.  Our goal is to have this project completed by the June 1st kickoff party.  Finally, this project is a very important investment, which was about $5000, for our community.  We greatly appreciate each of who have renewed your $75 HOA membership and we welcome all new memberships.  This will certainly be a big help in covering the cost, as will any donation you would like to send.
